South sensation Vikram who plays the role of Karikalan in PS franchise, says working with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was a phenomenal experience.
Vikram along with entire ensemble cast was interacting with Newshelpline during a press-conference in Mumbai to promote PS-2.
When asked about his character Karikalan being in love with Nandini (Aishwarya) in the movie and his working experience with world beauty, Vikram said, “Working with Aishwarya was phenomenal, I loved it, and it was nice sharing screen-space with her, that chemistry with her.”
“I love the unquilted love between Nandini (Aishwarya) and Aditha Karikalan (Vikram), I think it is a very different kind of love, I have romanced a lot of people in a lot of movies, so I have probably done one sided love, or mutual love, but for the first time, there is a love story, where there is person who loves him so much that she could kill him, on the other side, there is person, who love her so much that he can die for her, so what happens next is sort of fun to watch, does he die because of her? Or lives? That is beautiful thought, even in the book, their love story is not finished, it’s just left there, so conjure-up some image on our minds” added Vikram.
Two-part epic saga is directed by Mani Ratnam, the music is composed by A. R. Rahman, the film chronicled the early life of Chola prince Arunmozhi Varman, who would become the renowned emperor Rajaraja I.
Backed by Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions, it is the first of two cinematic parts based on Kalki Krishnamurthy’s 1955 novel, Ponniyin Selvan. The film stars an ensemble cast including Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Rai, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prakash Raj, Jayaram, Prabhu, R. Sarathkumar, R. Parthiban, Rahman, Lal and Vikram Prabhu.
The film, PS-2 is slated for 28th April 2023 release.
