In a notable political shift, Raj Thackeray, chief of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), and Uddhav Thackeray, leader of Shiv Sena (UBT), have both expressed a willingness to work together in the larger interest of Maharashtra and the Marathi community, despite their past differences.
During a podcast with filmmaker Mahesh Manjrekar, Raj Thackeray said that the welfare of Maharashtra is his top priority, and he is open to setting aside personal disagreements to collaborate with Uddhav, if he agrees.
Later, at an event organized by the Bhartiya Kamgar Sena, Uddhav Thackeray responded positively to Raj’s statement. He said he too is ready to move past old disputes for the sake of the Marathi language and the state, but added a condition—Raj should not associate with groups or individuals who are against Maharashtra, and should take an oath before Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj to prove his commitment.
