After making her directorial debut with Dhobi Ghat, filmmaker Kiran Rao is making a comeback with Laapataa Ladies, a quirky and intriguing drama slated for 2024 release.

Laapataa Ladies is set in 2001, centred around a ‘jolly mess’ when two young brides hilariously entwined in a riot of mistaken identities. The cast of the film includes Sparsh Srivastav, Pratibha Ranta, Nitanshi Goel, Ravi Kishan, Chhaya Kadam and several others.
Biplab Goswami is credited with the original story with Sneha Desai writing the screenplay and dialogues and Divyanidhi Sharma penning the additional dialogues.
Ram Sampath is the music composer of Laapata Ladies with Vikash Nowlakha handling cinematography.
The film is slated for premiere at TIFF, it is produced by Aamir Khan Productions and Jio Studios. The film will arrive in cinemas on January 5, 2024.
