Beauty in Black Season 2 Part 1 Recap
Horace’s marriage to Kimmie unexpectedly disrupts the lives of the Bellarie family. Their wealth and influence come from a will that divides the shares of the Beauty in Black company among family members, intended to strengthen their bonds. However, the strained relationships among them only intensify their conflicts. With Kimmie now married to Horace, she gains the same protections that prevent anyone from trying to eliminate her from the family dynamics. Additionally, the family patriarch revises his will to safeguard Angel, Rain, and Sylvie from internal threats. Despite this, Kimmie remains wary of their new luxurious lifestyle.
At the same time, Angel faces his own issues when he is wrongfully arrested for stealing a car, which happens to belong to the dangerous criminal Daniel Lakeland, whose father died in the backseat. Kimmie is actually responsible for the theft and the tragic death, but in trying to shield her from the fallout, Horace inadvertently makes Angel the scapegoat. The news of Angel’s arrest eventually reaches Rain through Alex, the new driver assigned to her and the others. After witnessing the girls gain their freedom from Jules, Alex is eager to gain their trust and escape his own predicament. However, when Kimmie learns about Angel, her paranoia escalates, prompting her to try to escape from Horace and the Bellaries. Luckily, Horace stops her, aided by Angel, who has survived an assassination attempt.
Despite their initial tensions, Kimmie and Horace work through their issues, with Horace teaching Kimmie about his business and family. Meanwhile, Kimmie embarks on a vengeful mission to confront Daga, the woman who manipulated her during a botched plastic surgery that nearly cost her life. Alex joins her on this secret mission, eager to demonstrate his loyalty. On a different note, Horace starts exploring alternative treatments for his terminal cancer, encouraged by Sylvie. This leads him to board a flight to Italy for a mandatory family meeting, where Kimmie is set to meet the family as their new boss. However, while she is away, Sylvie and Rain find themselves in serious trouble, resulting in Glen, the stable boy, taking a dangerous fall from a window.
Beauty in Black Season 2 Part 1 Ending: Does Glen, Jules’ Son, Die?
As Kimmie takes on her new role as Horace’s wife and the COO of the Bellarie empire, the most significant shift occurs in her relationship with Jules. Previously, he held immense power over her, having trafficked her into sex work through intimidation and threats. Now, as Mrs. Bellarie, she finds herself in a position of authority over him. However, Jules still has connections to Roy and Norman, making it challenging for her to completely sever ties with him for the time being. Despite this, Kimmie is determined to take steps toward ensuring his eventual downfall. On the other hand, Jules is not entirely defenseless. As the family’s Head of Security, he possesses knowledge of everyone’s darkest secrets, which gives him leverage to protect what he considers his own.
This includes his son, Glen, who helps out at Horace’s estate during his college breaks. Glen works as a stable boy, caring for the horses owned by the patriarch. When Kimmie and her family move into the mansion, Glen is present on the ranch, leading to an encounter with Sylvie, Kimmie’s curious younger sister, who is eager to learn about the horses. Initially, Sylvie is accompanied by her friend Angel, who soon becomes distracted by cars and the promise of shopping. This leaves Sylvie alone in a place deemed unsafe by her guardians. When Rain discovers that Sylvie is on her own, she rushes to find her. To her shock, she finds Sylvie in Glen’s room, and upon hearing sounds of intimacy, she jumps to the wrong conclusion and reacts violently, pushing Glen out of a second-floor window.
However, Rain soon realizes that her reaction was unwarranted, as Glen and Sylvie’s interaction was consensual. Unable to reach Angel, Rain turns to Alex for help, only to learn that Glen is Jules’ son. After Kimmie’s meeting, Alex meets her to deal with the situation, only to find that Glen has survived the fall despite significant blood loss. Kimmie quickly grasps the gravity of what has happened. Alex devises a plan to get Glen emergency medical attention and hopes to attribute his injuries to a horse-riding accident, banking on his potential memory loss. Nevertheless, it becomes clear that Glen’s precarious survival poses just as much danger for Kimmie and Rain as his death would have. Therefore, it’s likely that Jules will continue to play a significant role in the protagonists’ lives in the latter part of the season, this time for a more perilous reason.
What Happens to the Company? Is Kimmie the New Boss?
When Horace departs for his treatment, he inadvertently leaves Kimmie in a powerful position at the Beauty in Black company. As the Head of Operations, she holds a significant number of shares and has considerable influence over executive decisions. Consequently, her first day as the boss turns into a display of power. Horace originally married Kimmie to leverage her strong, no-nonsense demeanor to provoke his family and ultimately deprive them of his wealth when he passes away. Now, it’s her opportunity to demonstrate that their union has been worthwhile. To set the stage, Horace sends a group email to his family, mandating a meeting with Kimmie, and implements strict penalties to ensure attendance.
On her first day, Kimmie deliberately arrives late, allowing everyone else to experience frustration and anxiety. She confidently establishes her authority over the key players in the company, dismissing Mallory’s feigned kindness and asserting her dominance over both employees and the Bellaries. Kimmie uses her new position to intimidate and belittle Roy, who had previously taken advantage of her. She remains steadfast against Olivia’s attempts to intimidate her as well. When the official meeting begins, she demonstrates her competence by disregarding their expectations and introducing her own ideas. Additionally, she uncovers questionable financial dealings, including Olivia and Norman’s hidden offshore laundering accounts. Horace, watching through CCTV, is pleased with how effectively Kimmie challenges his family. However, with ongoing lawsuits threatening the company, Kimmie faces a challenging road ahead.
Is Charles Going to Lose His Shares?
The shares of the Beauty in Black company are one of several provisions that Horace and Norman’s father included in his will. The will also specifies that anyone accused of a felony will be immediately excluded from the will, in addition to warnings against divorce and assassinations. This is precisely the reason Horace has such sway over Norman and Roy, particularly now that he has learned of their involvement in the illicit sex trafficking organization. Mallory has also committed murder, albeit unintentionally, and Olivia has already spilled enough blood. As a result, even though Horace and Kimmie are far from perfect, they have the power to take action against practically every Bellarie family member. Regretfully, Charles
Charles is uninterested in the politics and drama that break out among the Bellaries, in contrast to his other family members. He only wants to party, drink, use drugs, and have sex instead. He has been manipulating the family lawyer Varney for a long time, sleeping with him while denying that the other person actually feels the same way about him. The younger brother maintains his air of indifference and disdain even after Roy finds out about their relationship and keeps scheming to expose the lawyer to the other Bellaries. Varney eventually gets sick of Charles’ antics for the same reason.
It should come as no surprise that Dustin is a thief who entices the young Bellarie and follows him home to investigate the area and commit a heist the following morning. The young man is completely alone against three criminals because Varney has already left the property. Nevertheless, Charles fights his way through and kills Dustin and his companions. But this puts him in a different bind. He is legally implicated because his home and system are overflowing with drugs. Therefore, calling the police is not an option for him to escape the situation. He now has three dead bodies to dispose of in some way. Even worse, Varney appears determined to keep away from him, ultimately erecting barriers around his heart.
He eventually turns to chopping the corpses into pieces in his bathroom in order to dispose of them himself. Varney thus discovers him covered in blood and encircled by limbs. However, police break down the door and take the two men into custody before he even has a chance to appropriately disassociate himself from the trainwreck situation. Charles may therefore be the first Bellarie to formally lose his place on the will, given the abundance of dismembered dead bodies in his home.
Is Horace’s Cancer Treatable?
In many respects, the patriarch’s quest for vengeance against his family is sparked by Horace’s cancer diagnosis. He has long harbored hatred toward his sons, brother, and ex-wife. Because his death is imminent, he therefore finds it intolerable to leave his millions in shares and properties to them. For the same reason, he devises a scheme to wed Kimmie, giving her his fortune and using her to overthrow his family. Horace, however, grows increasingly desperate for survival as his time runs out and his plan starts to take shape. As a result, he permits himself to investigate when Sylvie provides him with information regarding an experimental cancer treatment in Thailand.
His doctor later tells him that he had previously rejected the same idea because he didn’t want to consider the possibility of dying somewhere other than his own house. However, Horace is more open to the notion of a bright future now that Kimmie and the others have arrived, bringing a new tide into his life. He therefore chooses to take a chance and takes a plane to Italy, where he can receive comparable care. It is currently unknown where Horace may go as a result of this treatment at the conclusion of Part 1 of season 2. With its assistance, many people have recovered from their terminal illness. However, the final outcome depends on a number of factors.
