Mumbai, 7th May 2022 (NewsHelpline) – After Ludo and Meenakshi Sundareshwar with Netflix, actress Sanya Malhotra has been busy shooting her third outing with digital giant. The film is titled Kathal and the team has wrapped the film.
Kathal, the woman-led dramedy is the directorial debut of Yashowardhan Mishra, who has also penned the film along with veteran writer Ashok Mishra. The film is set in a small town, Kathal revolves around a local politician whose prized jackfruits (kathals) go missing and a young police officer named Mahima (Malhotra) is adamant to solve this bizarre case to prove herself.
Sanya Malhotra just took to her social media profile and shared, “Sanya Malhotra – It’s a wrap on the crazy chronicles of #Kathal ! It’s been a roller coaster of emotions to play Mahima and live in this whacky world! Can’t wait for you all to be a part of it too”
The film is backed by Netflix, producer Guneet Monga’s Sikhya Entertainment and Balaji Telefilms Ltd.
Kathal also stars Anant Joshi, best known for playing the titular role of Bhaskar Tripathi in ALTBalaji web series Virgin Bhasskar.
Apart from Kathal, actress Sanya Malhotra is also busy with HIT – The First Case remake of a Telugu movie by the same name. The film also stars Rajkummar Rao, and it is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Dil Raju, Krishan Kumar, and Kuldeep Rathore.
The Hindi remake of the thriller is directed by Dr Sailesh Kolanu, who also helmed the original film. “HIT – The First Case” is described as a gripping tale of a cop, who is on the trail of a missing girl.
